Drawn entirely in ink, this trio of moths keeps to a quiet monochrome palette: deep ink black, soft charcoal cross-hatching, dove grey stippling and clean paper white. The mood is that of a naturalist’s notebook – precise, a little mysterious, with the delicate detail of a cabinet-of-curiosities specimen plate. Because the palette is neutral, it sits happily against almost any considered wall colour, but it looks especially good on sage green, deep forest green, dusty plum or a warm off-white, where the fine linework reads crisply.
