Got yourself one of our deliciously fruity diedododa patches? Fantastic choice! Here’s how to get it securely stuck and looking fabulous:
Step 1: Prep Your Item
Before you unleash your inner patch-artist, make sure your item is clean and wrinkle-free. If it’s clothing, giving it a quick wash and dry is ideal. A smooth, fresh canvas means your patch will adhere like a dream.
Step 2: Heat Up Your Iron
Plug in your iron and crank it up to the highest heat setting (no steam though — we don’t want a sauna situation here). Steam can mess with the magic.
Step 3: Position Your Patch
Lay your item flat on an ironing board or towel. Pop the patch in place and shuffle it around until it’s just right. If needed, a little tape or some pins can help hold it steady.
Step 4: Protect the Patch
To keep your fruity patch looking tasty, place a thin cloth or some parchment paper over it. This shields the patch from getting too toasty or damaged during the heat treatment.
Step 5: Apply the Heat
Press your iron down firmly on top of the cloth-covered patch. Hold it there for 10-15 seconds and apply even pressure. This gets the adhesive all warm and sticky — just what we need for a secure bond.
Step 6: Check It’s Stuck
Gently lift a corner of the patch to check if it’s bonded nicely. Not quite there yet? No worries — just repeat step 5 until it’s clinging on for dear life.
Step 7: Cool It
Once your patch feels firmly attached, give it a few minutes to cool off. This lets the adhesive set properly and ensures your patch stays put.
Step 8: Give It a Tug
After cooling, gently pull on the patch to test the adhesion. If it budges, repeat steps 5-7 until it’s rock solid. Done right, these fruity wonders will stay in place like they were born there.
Keeping Your Patch Looking Fresh
- Don’t wash your patched item too often — over-washing can loosen the adhesive.
- Hand washing or a gentle machine cycle is your safest bet.
- When ironing the item in future, avoid placing the iron directly on the patch — use a cloth or parchment paper to keep it safe.
- If your patch starts to peel, a quick heat touch-up will reactivate the adhesive and get things back in shape.
