The Castle Viewed From The Vennel Canvas Print

Description

A view of the magnificent Edinburgh Castle, as seen from The Vennel in the Grassmarket.

The Vennel, apart from offering one of the finest views in Edinburgh has a surprising amount of history surrounding it’s steps. Alongside you will find the 16th century built Flodden Wall, as well as remains of the Telfer wall. Also you will find a plaque commemorating one of Edinburgh’s heroes, Bessie Watson, who lived there in the Vennel. The Vennel steps have actually been renamed “Miss Jean Brodie Steps”, as the author lived nearby, and the steps featured heavily in the film. Thats nice, but I can’t help feeling the Bessie Watson steps would have been more appropriate.

Essential Edinburgh is a series of prints depicting the enchanting loveliness of the historical Scottish city where diedododa was born and lives in blissful happiness.
