Vienna carries tremendous history with a libertine charm of pastel hued architecture and a sweet tooth!

Road Tripping is an abstract series of places that I have visited which left a lasting impression. Expressed in emotive shapes and colours in each piece.

Vienna Calling arrives with a palette that demands a confident wall – the print layers cobalt blue and navy with acid yellow, warm terracotta-peach, earthy chocolate brown, and a cool mint that cuts through the centre like a breath of fresh air. Because the palette runs warm in its earthy and yellow tones but is tempered by those cooler blues and mint, it sits beautifully against a deep dusty terracotta or a warm sand that echoes the peach ground without competing, while a soft sage-green wall draws on the analogous relationship with the mint already living inside the composition. For a higher-contrast approach, a charcoal with warm brown undertones sets the yellows and cobalts ablaze without pulling the eye away from the print’s layered energy. Stylistically, this is a natural fit for maximalist, contemporary eclectic, neo-pop and bold Scandi interiors – rooms that treat colour as a design decision rather than a risk. The kinetic layering of botanical silhouettes, geometric shapes and spray-paint textures gives it a restless, city-in-motion energy that reads well above a wide desk or sideboard in a home studio, or as a focal piece in a living room that benefits from a talking point. Part of the Road Tripping collection – a body of work built around movement, colour and the charged feeling of being somewhere new – it pairs naturally with other prints from the collection for a gallery wall full of forward momentum. For a friend who buys art the way other people collect experiences, this makes an assured and generous gift.

Vienna Calling is printed with archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag®, a museum-grade cotton paper whose subtle felt texture and matte, glare-free surface give the composition a depth that glossy stock cannot match – and means reflections never dilute the intensity of that cobalt or yellow. The matte finish works equally well in a slim oak or black metal frame and in an ornate plaster or gilded frame, so the print moves between contemporary and more decorative interiors without concession. At A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) and A3 (29.7 × 42 cm) it slips onto a shelf or into a curated gallery arrangement; A2 (42 × 59.4 cm) begins to assert itself as a standalone piece on a smaller feature wall; A1 (59.4 × 84.1 cm) carries real presence in a hallway or above a sofa; and at A0 (84.1 × 118.9 cm) the composition fills a room corner with the energy of a full-scale artwork. Vienna Calling is also available as a 28 × 40 inch (70 × 100 cm) canvas print, ready to hang with no frame needed.
