Road Tripping is an abstract series of places that I have visited which left a lasting impression. Expressed in emotive shapes and colours in each piece.
Tokyo Electric crackles with a palette centred on hot magenta pink, deep cobalt blue, warm terracotta amber, salmon coral, and dark crimson red, lifted by scatterings of multicoloured dot-work that read almost like neon confetti against a cool greige ground. That warm-cool tension is the key to hanging it well: walls in a deep teal or petrol green pick up the cobalt and give the whole composition somewhere to breathe, while a warm off-white with peachy undertones mirrors the salmon coral and lets the magenta and amber ring out without competition. If you want the print to do the heavy lifting, hang it against a flat mid-grey – one that sits just warm enough to echo the greige in the background – and the neon elements will advance dramatically. A terracotta or burnt-clay wall deepens the amber tones in a way that feels earthy yet electric, turning the piece into something almost tonal rather than chaotic. In terms of style, this print belongs in a maximalist interior, a bold contemporary space, an eclectic or neo-pop living room, or a graphic design-led studio.
