Jellysnakes expresses the meandering thoughts, distractions, and procrastinations of my mind. Each colour a different emotion evoked by a different thought, reaction to a cute cat video, the unexpected ring of the doorbell etc etc. All made come to silly life by adding a pair of googly eyes!
Tropical Tang earns its name through a palette that fizzes with warm tomato red, soft peach-orange, bright lemon yellow, bubblegum pink, and coral-orange, all kept from tipping into chaos by cooler accents of mint green, dark forest green, and soft lilac. That temperature contrast – predominantly warm with cool relief – means the print sits happily against walls painted in a warm off-white or a pale, slightly yellow-tinged cream, which echo the lemon and peach without competing. For something with more personality, a deep terracotta or warm rust picks up the red and coral directly as an analogous neighbour, intensifying the energy in the right way. Cooler walls in a dusty sage or a muted eucalyptus green draw out the forest and mint segments, creating a complementary balance that keeps the print as the focal point. This is an image that belongs in spaces where seriousness is optional: a child’s bedroom, a playroom, a kitchen diner, or a creative studio where mood and colour matter more than decorum. It is part of the Jellysnakes collection – a series of six prints described by its artist as "an explosion of colour and emotion," each abstract shape brought to silly life with a pair of googly eyes. The prints pair naturally together for a gallery wall that functions as a full burst of joyful colour, and individually Tropical Tang makes a particularly winning gift for someone who has just moved into their first home, or for anyone who wears their playfulness proudly.
Printed using archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag®, a museum-grade cotton paper with a subtle felt texture, the surface is completely matte and glare-free, which means it reads well under both natural light and artificial lighting without reflections flattening the colour. The smallest sizes, A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) and A3 (29.7 × 42 cm), slot neatly onto shelves or into a mixed gallery wall where the googly eyes reward a closer look. An A2 (42 × 59.4 cm) works as a confident standalone above a desk or sideboard, while an A1 (59.4 × 84.1 cm) brings the full wriggling energy of the snake into a room with real authority. At A0 (84.1 × 118.9 cm) the print is genuinely room-anchoring and suits a wide, generous wall in a kitchen, hallway, or open-plan living space. The matte surface is equally at home in a slim oak or black metal frame and in a more ornate gilded or painted vintage frame. This print is also available as a ready-to-hang canvas measuring 28 × 40 inches (70 × 100 cm), requiring no frame.
