CataTonic Giclée Art Print

CataTonic is the slight odd one out in this series because it is more about the play on words than the animal’s connection to the product.
The first version of CataTonic can be found in our Poisons and Potion series in a monochrome Victorian incarnation.
To add a colour version, the boozy cat is channeling some vintage soft drink giant’s vibes.

The ADimals series takes its inspiration from playful mid-century style advertising posters. Taking you back to a time when photography was rarely used in advertising and companies took a more humorous and artistically illustrated approach to showcase their products and services.

Salmon-peach and dusty blue-grey dominate the palette here, warmed by rich terracotta-red lettering and deepened by the inky blue-black of the cat itself – altogether a vintage palette that reads as warm-toned with cool shadow accents. Walls in a soft, slightly greyed terracotta or a warm clay will pull out the lettering and background in a tonal, analogous relationship that feels cohesive and considered. For contrast, a muted sage or dusty teal picks up the cool blue-grey shadows without fighting the warmth, while a pale oat or warm off-white keeps the vintage character grounded if you prefer a quieter setting. The print belongs to the ADimals collection, a series that brings animals and design nostalgia together with wit and real graphic craft, and it sits comfortably alongside other prints from the collection for a gallery wall with genuine personality. Style-wise, this is a natural fit for retro-Americana, mid-century modern, and maximalist eclectic interiors – and its playful confidence means it holds its own in a contemporary kitchen or relaxed home bar where the tonic-bottle subject adds a knowing nudge. A home office corner or a reading nook would suit it equally well, where the stretching cat’s easy contentment sets exactly the right tone. It makes an honest, characterful gift for cat lovers, cocktail enthusiasts, or anyone with a taste for vintage graphic design.

Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag®, a museum-grade cotton paper with a subtle felt texture, using archival pigment inks, the surface is fully matte and glare-free – meaning it reads just as well under pendant lighting as in natural light, and suits everything from a slim black or natural oak frame to a deeper ornate gilt or painted vintage frame. At A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) or A3 (29.7 × 42 cm) it works beautifully on a shelf, a mantelpiece, or as part of a gallery arrangement; at A2 (42 × 59.4 cm) it becomes a confident standalone piece above a desk or sideboard; and at A1 (59.4 × 84.1 cm) or A0 (84.1 × 118.9 cm) the bold retro lettering and graphic composition have the presence to anchor an entire wall. This print is also available as a 28 × 40 inch (70 × 100 cm) canvas, ready to hang with no frame needed.
