Chirpy Cheep Cheep Chickens Giclée Art Print

Say hello to ISA Brown and chick. She’s originally from France (as a species) and has overall become one of the most popular domestic chickens. I grew up around these lovely creatures, so it feels this one has been a long time coming!

Creature Features is a celebration of species tall and small – from exotic creatures to farmyard favourites. In the series I aim to put a contemporary spin on traditional wildlife illustration, depicting each species in bold colour combinations or playful poses.

There are lots more lovely creatures here

Warm amber and golden yellow dominate this print – the sun-drenched background and the hen’s rich chestnut-brown plumage filling the composition with a toasty, almost glowing heat, while a deep teal shadow pools beneath the birds and the pale cream chick provides a soft, gentle counterpoint. That palette of warm terracotta-adjacent browns and saturated golden yellow, cooled only by the punchy teal accent, gives you clear direction on wall colour: a warm off-white with a yellow or sand undertone will let the print breathe while echoing the background’s warmth, a muted clay or dusty ochre wall creates an analogous, tonal harmony with the hen’s feathers, and for contrast, a deep teal or dark duck-egg wall pulls directly from the shadow in the image and makes the whole composition sing. This is a print that sits naturally within farmhouse, cottagecore, folk-art, and joyful maximalist interiors – spaces that embrace colour, nature and a little wit without taking themselves too seriously. It belongs in a kitchen, where the subject matter earns its place with warmth and familiarity, or in a child’s bedroom or playroom where its cheerful mood and tender mother-and-chick story resonate daily. It is part of the Creature Features collection on Diedododa, a whimsical exploration of the animal kingdom rendered in vivid hues and expressive strokes, and it pairs beautifully with other prints from the collection for a characterful gallery wall. It makes a genuinely lovely gift for a new mother, a lover of country life, or anyone who keeps chickens with more affection than is strictly necessary.

Printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag®, a museum-grade cotton paper with a subtle felt texture, using archival pigment inks, the surface is matte and entirely glare-free – qualities that work equally well behind a simple slim frame or a more ornate vintage mount. At A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) or A3 (29.7 × 42 cm), the print slots into a shelf arrangement or contributes its warm colours to a gallery wall without demanding too much space; at A2 (42 × 59.4 cm) it stands confidently on its own above a dresser or beside a doorway; and at A1 (59.4 × 84.1 cm) or A0 (84.1 × 118.9 cm), the full richness of the feather detail and the depth of that teal shadow become genuinely commanding, anchoring a kitchen or living-room wall with real presence. This print is also available as a 28 × 40 inch (70 × 100 cm) canvas, ready to hang with no frame needed.
