Lady Promqueen Glider Matte Art Print

This lucky snapshot was taken in that one serene moment right before her dress got tangled in the giant fan blowing a storm a flower petals into the crowd. A most haphazard glider.

All the collages in this series are comprised of my own illustrations, vintage botanical illustrations and close-up shots of textures from my own photo library.

Lady Promqueen Glider is dressed in a palette of sage and olive green, dusty rose pink, soft cream and warm blush, with fine charcoal ink work and small black-and-white accents giving the collage its structure. It is a gentle, faded palette with a mischievous streak, and it sits beautifully against sage green, warm white, putty and blush pink walls — or, for drama, a deep bottle green or inky charcoal that lets the needlepoint florals glow. Stylists would place this squarely in grandmillennial, eclectic maximalist and cottagecore territory, with a nod to romantic vintage interiors built on layered pattern and old-world charm. Given her air of dressing up far more seriously than the occasion requires, she belongs in a bedroom, dressing room or walk-in wardrobe, and makes a wonderfully strange conversation piece in a powder room or hallway. She is part of the Animals in Suits collection — a curious gathering of finely dressed creatures surrounded by florals, faded textures and fragments of the past — and pairs naturally with her fellow residents for a nostalgic, theatrical gallery wall. As a gift, she suits anyone with a soft spot for sugar gliders, vintage haberdashery or a well-judged sense of occasion.

The print is made with archival pigment inks on Enhanced Matte art paper, a smooth museum-grade stock whose soft, glare-free surface keeps every stitch of the needlepoint texture and every ink line crisp under any light. That matte finish is equally happy in a slim modern frame or something ornate and gilded to play up the vintage mood. At A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) she slots easily onto a shelf, dressing table or into a gallery wall of collection companions; A3 (29.7 × 42 cm) makes a confident statement above a bedside table or console; and A2 (42 × 59.4 cm) will anchor a bedroom or hallway wall on her own.

Meet the distinguished residents of Animals in Suits – a curious collection of finely dressed creatures ready to lend their portrait to your world.

From a top-hatted fox and impeccably tailored badger to a solemn cat, dapper hare and some decidedly eccentric ladies, each character has their own personality, story and sense of occasion. Florals, faded textures and fragments of the past surround them, creating portraits that feel at once nostalgic, theatrical and wonderfully strange.

Each artwork is built as a collage from my own original illustrations, vintage botanical illustrations, and close-up photographs of textures from my personal photo library. These elements are layered together to create richly detailed imaginary portraits with the patina and imperfections of something discovered rather than newly made.A celebration of animals, character and dressing up far more seriously than the occasion requires.
