This is the 4th instalment of my abstract pattern series inspired by the Four Seasons.
With an all around cooler colour palette and shapes it represents Winter.
The four part series is a happy mix of fun, vibrant colours and shapes with a nod to plants and foliage during the seasons as inspiration.
Bold lime green, electric orange, cobalt blue, warm magenta, deep purple and soft teal collide across this print with an energy that is celebratory rather than chaotic – a winter imagined not as dormancy but as vivid, almost defiant life. Because the palette runs warm-leaning overall, with the orange and lime pulling strongly yellow-warm, walls in a deep warm white or a soft off-white with a yellow undertone let the print’s own colours do the talking without competition. For something more committed, a rich forest green – an analogous neighbour to the lime and teal already in the image – draws out the botanical quality of the layered leaf forms and grounds the composition in the kind of moody, considered space a stylist would call maximalist-eclectic. If you want contrast, a deep dusty plum wall – near-complementary to the print’s lime and playing directly off the purple already woven through it – rewards the boldness of the piece and suits a more dramatic, jewel-toned interior. This print is a natural fit for maximalist, neo-tropical, contemporary eclectic and bold Scandi interiors, and works especially well in a living room or home studio where walls carry personality. Part of the Abstract Seasons collection, it belongs to a series that treats each season as a shift in feeling and visual temperature rather than a literal landscape; grouped with the other seasons as a gallery wall, the four prints make an arresting and cohesive set. It would make a thoughtful gift for someone who collects art with confidence.
Printed using archival pigment inks on Enhanced Matte art paper – a smooth, gallery-grade stock – the surface is museum-grade in quality and completely glare-free, which means it reads cleanly across a room without the reflections that can flatten a vivid palette like this one. That soft matte finish sits equally well behind the thin metal or slim oak profile of a modern frame and behind the deeper rebate of an ornate plaster or vintage gilded frame, which would complement the print’s richness beautifully. The A3 (29.7 × 42 cm) size suits a shelf arrangement or a tightly grouped gallery wall where the detail in the leaf and geometric forms rewards close attention; the A2 (42 × 59.4 cm) has enough presence to hold a wall on its own, making it a strong choice above a desk or beside a sofa. This print is also available as a 28 × 40 inch (70 × 100 cm) canvas print, ready to hang with no frame required.
