Creature Features is a celebration of species tall and small – from exotic creatures to farmyard favourites. In the series I aim to put a contemporary spin on traditional wildlife illustration, depicting each species in bold colour combinations or playful poses.
Cyril sits alert against a deep teal background – cool, slightly green-toned, close to a classic peacock or dark jade – with his warm chestnut-brown body, silvery-grey tail, and cream-white chest creating a palette that moves fluidly between cool and warm. That teal is the print’s dominant force, making it a natural companion to walls in a similar deep teal or a slightly lighter duck-egg blue, where the print sits in easy analogous harmony.
