Botanicals from my chosen home Scotland. Iconic bluebells and lesser known bog myrtle. The latter has beautiful balsamic fragrance is used in drink flavourings but also insect repellent. Imagine a crisp morning by a leafy loch.

Part of the Chromatose series, Chromatose Botanica combines botanical elements with colour related sensory associations from scent to touch, as well emotional associations and intimate settings.

Soft blush and warm sandy ochre form the ground of this print, threaded through with muted sage green, dusty blue-grey, and punctuated by bursts of poppy red – a palette that reads as warm overall, with just enough cool grey-green to keep it from tipping into sweetness. Those warm undertones mean it settles beautifully against walls in terracotta, muted coral, or a creamy off-white with a yellow lean; the sage and dusty blue-grey in the foliage pull out harmoniously against a soft olive or a weathered grey-green, making either an equally confident choice. If contrast is what you’re after, the scattered red circles hold their own against a deep charcoal or a dusty plum – shades that sit opposite the print’s warm yellows on the colour wheel and make the whole composition lift. In terms of style, a stylist would reach for this print in a maximalist botanical interior, a relaxed mid-century modern room, a warm Japandi scheme, or an eclectic boho space where layered textures and hand-drawn line work feel at home. It earns its place in a living room above a sofa or sideboard, in a sunlit study, or in a bedroom where it brings a sense of lush, dreamy calm. Part of the Chromatose collection – built around the idea of pure emotion in colour – it pairs naturally with other prints from the series for a gallery wall that builds a full emotional landscape. It makes a considered gift for anyone who loves botanical art with an abstract, painterly edge.

Printed using archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag®, a museum-grade cotton paper with a subtle felt texture, the matte, glare-free surface sidesteps reflections entirely and works equally well in a slim oak or black metal frame as in an ornate gilded one. At A4 (21 × 29.7 cm) or A3 (29.7 × 42 cm), it sits well on a shelf or as part of a curated gallery wall; at A2 (42 × 59.4 cm) or A1 (59.4 × 84.1 cm) it becomes a genuine room statement, the botanical detail opening up as the scale increases; and at A0 (84.1 × 118.9 cm) it anchors a whole wall with the quiet drama the composition deserves. This print is also available as a 28 × 40 inch (70 × 100 cm) canvas, ready to hang with no frame needed.
