Welcome to your favourite breakfast spot to watch the world go by! At Hôtel Dodo getting that second plate of deliciously fragrant baked goods because you just can’t make up your mind is considered standard 😉 While I’ll leave what was one the first plate to your imagination…would you just look at that golden flaky croissant and its Bakewell Tart pal!

Hôtel Dodo is a place, or better a tiny universe, that exists in my head allowing me to mind travel. Not dissimilar to the concept of a mind palace that makes remembering things easier.
My little universe is all about moments of calm, appreciating the little things, sun soaked lazy holiday lunches, beautifully curated table settings, and overall that “nothing to do, nowhere to go” energy.
Each setting invites the viewer to take a seat and the table, focus on the calm before them and be transported elsewhere for a little while.

See you poolside at Hôtel Dodo! X

Warm peach-blush and soft salmon dominate the upper half of this print, while a checkerboard of marigold yellow and teal below anchors the whole scene in retro-café energy; secondary notes of sage green, dusty sky-blue and creamy off-white round out a palette that runs warm overall, with the teal offering a cool counterpoint. For walls, that peach-blush warmth points directly to soft terracotta or warm apricot as a tonal, analogous pairing – the print’s own hues simply continuing into the room around it. Alternatively, lean into the checkerboard’s teal and use it as the lead for a wall in muted verdigris or deep sage, creating an analogous cool-warm dialogue with the marigold. If you prefer a neutral, reach for an off-white with a yellow or peachy undertone rather than a cool grey, since a grey-blue white would fight the print’s warmth. This is a print that feels entirely at home in a kitchen, a breakfast room, or a light-filled dining space – anywhere the ritual of a slow morning coffee and a buttery croissant makes sense as a mood. It belongs to the Hôtel Dodo collection, an imaginary resort built around retro holiday nostalgia and "nothing to do, nowhere to go" ease; pairing it with other prints from the collection builds an effortless gallery wall that carries that poolside calm through a room. Style-wise, it suits a retro-maximalist, café-eclectic, vintage French bistro or playful mid-century modern interior. It makes a thoughtful gift for a keen home cook, a Francophile, or anyone who takes their Sunday morning seriously.

Printed with archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® – a museum-grade cotton paper with a subtle felt texture – the matte, glare-free surface sits comfortably behind both a slim modern frame and an ornate vintage one without the reflections that can plague photographic finishes. The A4 works beautifully propped on a kitchen shelf or as part of a gallery wall arrangement; A3 and A2 make confident standalone pieces above a breakfast bar or beside a café-style bistro table; A1 and A0 have the scale to anchor an entire dining-room wall, letting the marigold-and-teal checkerboard fill the room the way a full café window might. This print is also available as a 28×40" (70×100 cm) canvas print, ready to hang with no frame needed.
