Chlorine Cowboys Giclée Art Print

Based on one of my favourite summer childhood memories. Holiday days spent at the outdoor pool which always ended in water pistol fights and getting portions of chips washed down with coke. It just hit different after swimming and running around all day, eyes still red and stinging from the chlorinated pool water…

Hôtel Dodo is a place, or better a tiny universe, that exists in my head allowing me to mind travel. Not dissimilar to the concept of a mind palace that makes remembering things easier.
My little universe is all about moments of calm, appreciating the little things, sun soaked lazy holiday lunches, beautifully curated table settings, and overall that “nothing to do, nowhere to go” energy.
Each setting invites the viewer to take a seat and the table, focus on the calm before them and be transported elsewhere for a little while.

Chartreuse green, warm golden yellow, creamy white, terracotta orange and deep cola brown are the colours doing the work here, all of them carrying a sunny, warm-toned energy that feels simultaneously retro and playfully laid-back. Because the palette is so thoroughly warm, walls in soft butter yellow or sandy ochre – analogous neighbours of the print’s own golden tones – will draw the scene outward and make the whole composition feel sunlit and easy. For a little more contrast, a matte terracotta or burnt clay wall picks up the cola bottle’s label and the ketchup without fighting the greens, while a warm off-white with a yellow undertone keeps things airy if you prefer something quieter behind it. This print is a natural fit for retro diner, maximalist eclectic, seventies-inflected mid-century and poolside-holiday interiors – the kind of spaces where a toy water gun on a café table is not remotely out of place. It belongs in a kitchen, a dining room or a casual eating nook where people are already in a good mood, or propped on a deep shelf beside other objects that share its bright, slightly anarchic spirit. It is part of the Hôtel Dodo collection, an imaginary resort built around retro holiday nostalgia and that wonderful "nothing to do, nowhere to go" energy – pairs beautifully with other prints from the collection for a gallery wall that feels like a sun-soaked holiday curated by someone with impeccable taste. A genuinely good gift for anyone who takes their leisure seriously.

The print is made using archival pigment inks on Hahnemühle Photo Rag®, a museum-grade cotton paper with a subtle felt texture and a matte, glare-free surface that reads beautifully under both natural and artificial light without picking up any reflections – which means it works equally well in slim black or natural wood frames and in more ornate vintage mouldings. The A4 size suits a shelf arrangement or a tightly grouped gallery wall; A3 holds its own as part of a larger hang or above a sideboard; A2 becomes a proper statement in a kitchen or dining room; A1 gives the composition real presence and rewards a wall with some breathing room around it; and at A0 the print is genuinely room-anchoring, filling a generous wall with all the warmth and colour it carries. This print is also available as a ready-to-hang canvas print at 28×40 inches (70×100 cm), which needs no frame.
